Tati and Dennis cycling to end poverty
Story
We have decided to take on the Pedal to End Poverty challenge with Good Return, and we need your support (and contributions :).
WHAT?
We’ll cycle over 400km across Cambodia in 7 days, in hot and humid weather, visiting some of the villages and people Good Returns supports.
WHY?
To raise awareness of the great work Good Return is doing to make a difference for the working poor in the Asia Pacific region, and help raise funds to support their programs in Cambodia.
HOW?
Good Returns programs provide people living in poverty with responsible microfinance and skills development opportunities. It helps them develop the confidence, knowledge, and capability to break the cycle of poverty for good by enabling them to create opportunities for themselves and their community.
It’s like the saying: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
$7,000 raised (our minimum target) can provide financial education to 4 Cambodian communities. This could help 88 rural families in total to obtain financial education, support new trainers to learn how to teach the financial literacy curriculum and assist Good Return to deliver their social performance and client protection program in Cambodia.
You can read about some of their success stories in the Good Returns session below and in the website.
WHEN?
The trip will be in 1–11 March 2015, so we have some training time!
Fundraising needs to be completed by end of January, so not as long...
THE ASK
We are each asking for at least 50 donations of at least $50 - are you one of them? Note that any donations over $2 are tax-deductible, and donations of any amount helps!
Your donations will impact the lives of 88+ families!
